My Story. Who Am I?

Hello! I'm Sam, a CGI artist based in Manchester with a deep passion for CG Artwork, I've also been obsessed by the design and mechanical beauty of older cars for a very long time, which has driven my creative journey.

Growing up, I was always drawn to the world of art and technology. That love led me to study animation at university, this was where my curiosity led me to explore 3D Modelling and Rendering.

My unique blend of interests has shaped my career and fueled my ambition to bring incredibly iconic cars to life through digital art.

Living with Cerebral Palsy has always presented unique challenges in my daily life, affecting my mobility and the way I approach my work. Yet, it has also instilled in me a strong sense of determination and creativity. While I may not be able to work on cars physically as much as I’d like, CGI has provided me with a way to follow my passions. I’ve adapted my techniques and workflows to suit my abilities, proving that limitations can indeed foster innovation.

During a break in my university studies, I bought a 1993 1275cc Rover Mini Sprite automatic. It quickly became a pivotal part of my life. It gave me a new goal, to refocus my mental and physical health, despite the challenges posed by my Cerebral Palsy I was going to learn to drive. I had to have the Mini modified for me to drive it independently with electric power steering and a left-footed accelerator.

This not only allowed me to enjoy my passion for classic cars firsthand but also significantly boosted my confidence and independence.

Over the years, I've spent many hours honing my 3D Modelling and Rendering skills, creating stunning visualizations of Classic Minis. My work has evolved from personal projects to professional collaborations and selling printed versions of my works.

More recently, I have gotten involved with the King’s Trust. My journey with them has been a cornerstone in my personal development. Through their Explore program and progressing through to their Enterprise Program, I gained invaluable self-confidence and essential soft skills. These experiences not only bolstered my confidence but also connected me with a community of inspiring individuals who share my passion for creativity and excellence. This support was pivotal in launching SH3DART.

I want to continue pushing my skill set and exploring new ways to combine classic cars and CGI. My goal is to connect with fellow car enthusiasts and art lovers, sharing my passion through my works.

If you see me at a show, don’t be scared, come and say hello!
